Project Description

Fish survey of the Lower Colorado River Basin. In 1961 John Tilton published a detailed survey of the Lower Colorado River below Austin and noted many species which have not since reliably been recorded (or not in a very long time) including (Finetooth Shark, Alligator Gar, Bowfin, Skipjack Shad, Spotted Sucker, Suckermouth Minnow, Sharpnose Shiner, Chub Shiner, Smalleye Shiner, Pallid Shiner, Roundnose Minnow, Pirate Perch, Cypress Darter). Likewise recently detected non-natives such as Naked Goby and Armored catfish have unknown distributions. Other not previously detected non-natives are likely.
