As Comal County continues to see extreme development pressure The County wide green infrastructure plan provides a framework for integrating planning, thinking and protection of the natural resources and services that make the county an attractive place to reside. Assets likely to be assessed include: open space acquisition, parks, water supply protection, urban forest protection, invasive species control, habitat protection, lot level incentive programs, flood protection, water quality protection, green streets, biodiversity enhancement and protection, carbon sequestration, soil protection, urban heat island impacts, connectivity, alternative transportation routes, storm water management, and agricultural resource protection.
