Project Description

Establish rebate or other incentive program scheme for management of riparian areas to preserve function and for implementing low impact development structures. Contingent on establishment of proposed Watershed Stewardship Program Coordination project.

Establish demonstration areas to raise visibility of properly functioning riparian areas. Establish demonstration areas for low impact development practices like permeable surfaces, rain gardens and swales to lessen the impact of non point source pollution through stormwater runoff. Offer incentive payments for preserving or restoring properly functioning riparian areas and installing low impact development structures to increase use of these practices.
