Recent and co-occurring invasive species in the Colorado Rive

Project Description

There are two recent and co-occurring invasive species in the Colorado River (likely to spread to other basins including the lower Colorado) - Naked Gobies and Zebra Mussels. Although gobies have not yet been detected in the Lower Colorado, they are likely to make it there in the near future. Since congregations of mussels offer a structurally similar habitat to the goby's natural oyster habitat on the coast, a potential relationship between gobies and zebra mussels should be investigated.
